Heaven 17 join The Cabonauts

Posted on 18 March 2010

I just got back from England where I had a meeting at the infamous Soho watering hole The Groucho Club with none other than Heaven 17′s Martyn Ware. Martyn and Glenn Gregory – who are currently touring with a show that sees them play their classic Penthouse & Pavement album in its entirety – have decided to accept our offer and are coming on board The Cabonauts as remixers!!

They join Jo Callis (The Human League, Rezillos) and a few more huge names who we’ll announce soon.

Heaven 17, originally featuring Martyn, Glenn and Ian Craig Marsh, formed from the ashes of the original Human League – first becoming BEF then settling on the Heaven 17 moniker. As BEF, they were pretty much responsible for Tina Turner’s resurrection in the early 80′s. You can read more about them – and I suggest you do – at their wikipedia entry.

I’ll be posting an interview with Martyn soon – so if you have any questions for him, leave them below.

In the meantime, here’s a few choice cuts of theirs:

From their recent sessions with BBC6, here’s an updated take on their classic “Let Me Go”.

This is one of their biggest hits – Temptation.

And here’s a version of Temptation they recently recorded with La Roux

Also fom the recent sessions for BBC6 here’s an updated take on “Fascist Groove Thang”.

And a personal favorite, “Sunset Now”.
